I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Johns passing, I remember him as a little boy very clearly, and more recently I saw him as a man training and having fun at the gym. He was always smiling with his friends. Love and faith to all your family.

I was devastated when I saw the notice at the Arbutus Club. John was the only one of your children whom I knew and talked to from time to time (I have met Paul a few times when Bob Kitchen had friends around). When I passed on the news to Beth and her daughter Tess, a great sadness came over all of us for John, his family and his friends. There's a small group picture with John sitting next to Tess in a photo collage in Beth's office; it was taken at Tess's third or fourth birthday party.
There's nothing overly wise I can come up with except to wish you strength and courage at such a time and that this tragedy helps to bring your family closer together. I hope that peace has come to John and that healing will be relatively quick in coming to you and the whole family.

Hearing about John's sudden passing was quite shocking and saddening for me. My heart goes out to his entire family during this very difficult time. Having gone to high school with John and seeing him frequently at the Arbutus Club I can say with confidence he will be greatly missed. I will always remember John as an easy person to talk to and friendly to all around him. His presence at the club will be missed, especially in the work out room where we all knew him so well.

I met John when I was 10 years old and will always be thankful for it. He was a true character! I admire his individualism, ambition and persistence. John was an incredible friend, an entrepreneur and will be greatly missed but never forgotten!

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. He was such a kind hearted person, who would always go out of his way to sit down and talk with you. John will truly be missed, and everyone will have a hard time adjusting to not seeing him at the gym.

Dear Al, Kathryn, Paul, Anne and David, I am deeply sorry about the passing of John. He was a close friend of mine having known him for about 20 years. After all the years where him and I have kept in and out of contact it was within the past 3-4 years that him and I started to hang out a lot consistently. I will miss him as a close friend, as a work-out partner and as one of the greatest legends of the Arbutus Club (to him and to a lot of us, our Second Home)

Dear Al, Kathryn, Anne, Paul and David, I can not express how deeply sorry i am for your loss. John was someone who would go out of his way to make you happy and put a smile on your face no matter what. The most reliable person you can count on, he always said to me "my word is my bond" and he never once broke his word. He was full of life and made everyone around him feel the energy that he carried with him. He was vibrant and animated and filled with so much character. He made me very happy in the time that we shared together and I will miss him dearly and he will be in my heart and thoughts.
